Purple Leaves // NO Blooms

last month

Central Massachusetts Zone 5b. The leaves on our hydrangeas are purple; there was only a single bloom on one of the plants and zero blooms on the other plant. I have read a possible reason for the leaves turning purple is a lack of phosphorus available in the soil.

I was going to apply either a Sta-Green Bone Meal fertilizer N-P-K 1-25-0 or Jobe's Bone Meal N-P-K 2-14-0; long with Blood Meal to enhance the soil.

Will that help?

Is it too late in the season or should I wait until spring?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank You
