I'm looking too... I figured I would just get a Toto, but the reviews don't look too good. Looks like lots of complaints on the Aquia IV about stuff getting stuck on the side. Bleh!

We went from an AS Cadet toilet to a Toto Nexus and love our new Toto toilet!

My husband balked at the cost, but now he prefers to use the toilet in our guest bathroom because he loves the heated seat so much! I like the auto-flush feature, but wish it would flush after the lid closes. I reached out to Toto but they said the auto-shut feature doesn't allow for the lid to close before flushing.

Thanks Julie! That one and the Carlisle II look like they get better reviews that then $400 Aquia. Our Toto Drake works well...just wish the sides were smooth and didn't cost $400 more to smooth the sides! :( Thanks for the Terry Love link... I remember that name from when we added on 8 years ago... starting all over again on the stuff we didn't get to the first time.

Funny to see my old thread resurfaced! I actually also ordered the Nexus - 3 of them in fact. No heated seats or any other special features, but it looks beautiful and easy to clean. It was one of the few things our builder remarked upon. Two more weeks till our project is done and we're back in the house, hopefully it will function just as well as it looks.

@smalloldhouse_gw, we paired the Nexus with a S550e washlet. The washlet is AMAZING and it cleans you off with warm water! You can program the water temp as well as a host of other things with the remote. I think you'll like the Nexus, it's a breeze to keep clean!

Ooo maybe we’ll plunge on that for the master and get a Home Depot special for the hall bath.

No regrets! Especially after 6 months in a rental with cheap old-school toilets! I don’t understand why all toilets aren’t one piece and skirted. In the scheme of the cost of this project, this seems like one of the smallest and wisest investments. I do have 2 teenage boys, that may skew my preferences!

The washlet is our favorite feature of our guest bathroom. It's totally worth the cost!! ;)

I got two Toto toilets when I remodeled.

The toilet in the guest bath is a Guinevere which is skirted but has a period look which goes with the decor of the room.

For my master bath I wanted a washlet and one with Connect+ which enables you to connect the washlet with only one line so the look is less cluttered and also easier to clean with fewer lines behind the toilet. The one I got was more contemporary looking because the choices were a bit more limited with the Connect+ option plus I wanted skirted AND one piece. It's fine as it is sleekly contemporary.

I went with the washlet S550e and I am so glad. It is probably one of the things I love most about my remodel. It is expensive but it is worth every penny in terms of the upgrades. I thought the lid automatically lifting was gimmicky but I really appreciate it now - it also has an option for the actual seat to lift and lower automatically when a man stands in front of it - which is wonderful for anyone who has inadvertently sat on a toilet when the seat is raised.

This washlet model also wets down the bowl when you approach so the toilet almost cleans itself since there are never streaks. It also has some kind of deodorizing mechanism - which again seems gimmicky but actually seems to work. I don't know how it works but it does.

I did get the model with the slim seat which is a relatively recent option. It eliminates the bulky look that the older model had and it pretty much now looks like a regular toilet seat.

And Toto toilets seem to work great. I have never had to flush twice and haven't had a clog or any other kind of issue since moving back in after the remodel which was about 2.5 years ago.

Following .. for those of you with a gimmicky toilet, do you have a cat? No matter how many water bowls I leave out for my adopted cat, her preference is "toilet-flavored" water; she will run into each of the bathrooms in the hope of finding one with the lid open. Would a cat trigger the lid to open on an automated toilet? Are cats and automated toilets a bad combination?
