Neither. I don't like divided sinks because neither sink is going to be big enough for big pots/pans/trays. Of the two you have, I prefer the bottom one as one of the sinks is bigger.

No divided sink for me. One large bowl, offset drain, please.

Agree - neither. No divided sink. Nothing beats a big single bowl.

Not a pro. I like the bottom one. Also, unlike the others who have commented, I am a fan of the divided sink, as it allows one side for soaking/washing and one side for rinsing. It all depends upon what works best for your lifestyle, though.

Neither please. If you must have a divided sink, at least get a low divide.

Another who suggests a single bowl sink.

This board is only united on a couple topics, and one of them is LARGE SINGLE BOWL SINK -- the bigger, the better. Double bowl sinks are a hold-over from the pre-dishwasher days when everything had to be washed by hand.

Reasons to go with a single bowl:

    - You can always put a $1 plastic dish tub into a single bowl sink and create a "divider" or a place to soak things, but you can never remove the divider from a double bowl when you want to wash a large item.

    - With a single bowl, you have less plumbing underneath; thus, more storage space. If you choose an offset drain, you'll really maximize storage space.

    - With a single bowl, you don't have a side that's without a garbage disposal.

Neither - Those sinks are very dated. Do you need an over mount? I'd do an under mount sink, but if you are simply replacing a sink, this one can go either way. . https://www.homedepot.com/p/KRAUS-Loften-Undermount-Drop-In-Stainless-Steel-33-in-1-Hole-Single-Bowl-Kitchen-Sink-KHT410-33/312260528

An option for under mount - https://www.amazon.com/Ruvati-33-inch-Undermount-Kitchen-Stainless/dp/B07R8CL99R

I had never thought of an undermount! We’re pretty set on a double bowl though......tough

Wouldn't have a divided sink. Where are you supposed to put the roasting pan from Thanksgiving Dinner? I would always get a single bowl, deeper than average and as wide as my layout would allow. I have an over mounted sink and I wish I had gone with the under mount. But, then again, I've never had an over mount, so I don't know what the drawbacks are to that.

edit: Oops...I just noticed the original author posted above me that she is committed to a double bowl. Ignore my post. [g]

I guess it depends on your cooking / clean up habits. I hated every single bowl kitchen sink I ever had to live with (12 residences). I always have a sink filled with hot soapy water for clean as you go. At the same time I want to be able to rinse and have access to the garbage disposal. I certainly don’t want to store a plastic container to make the sink divided. The best sink I’ve had is a Koehler that has one bowl that is larger. It fits my roasting pan and is in fact now soaking my two stove burner grates. It is big enough for my pressure canner, etc. That is why the bottom sink received my vote.

I'm not a fan of either of those. What is your budget? Check out Kraus and Tricor double bowl SS sinks. Look for one that is 16 or 18 gauge. Are you set on one that comes with a faucet or are you open to purchasing separately? If your set up allows, I would do an undermount sink.

I had a Franke 60/40 Franke sink in my last house. I did a large single here & I miss the my 60/40. All of my pans fit in the 60 & I always had a clean 40 for washing veggies etc. Now i can fit cookie sheet flat which isn't as important to me since i have to clean the sink Every time I want to wash veggies.

If you must have 2 sinks, then get a low divide. The sinks you have posted look like they're from the 80's. Of course, you may not be old enough to remember them. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ruvati-33-in-Low-Divide-Double-Bowl-60-40-Undermount-Tight-Radius-16-Gauge-Stainless-Steel-Kitchen-Sink-RVH7419/304625180
