You might check with your delivery services to see what they would allow. I know the usps has specific requirements for mail boxes. And mail carriers may not be excited about doing something unusual

There are “package mailboxes” that meet their criteria. Not super attractive but it may be better to design a porch or landing with room for one of those regulation mailboxes.

Also imagine you are a mail carrier. Would you like to open an exterior door and go into someone’s house where you can no longer be seen from the street? I would be nervous about that. If the door doesn’t look mail specific neighbors also might call the cops on you. In the us at least, not sure your location? I would talk to the delivery services before an architect
