Just for an example, on the left is the original countertop I chose (MSI Stellar White) which ended up being slightly yellowish and creamy, which didn't match my light gray concrete floors or the bright white backsplash tile. On the right is my current counter which is more true white and on the cooler side.

What really matters is how YOU feel though. If the different whites are driving you crazy, then change something up. Would you really need to change the trim in the entire house?

Well my kitchen and living room are basically in the same room. I have built ins in my living room that are the same color/style as my kitchen cabinets. Do you think I could get away with only repainting the living room/kitchen? Ny mudroom is close by also and that has a built in cubby area that is the same white as my trim.

If this can be diy I'd plan to redo all the trim. . .over time. Or you can diy everything other than the kitchen/living.

I do not know how to do any of this myself. There is soooo much that would need to be painted. Do you think painting the cabinets to match the trim is a bad idea? I feel like there would be less to paint if we did it this way?

I'm retired from touch up and repair. I had about six or eight whites in my kit and it is difficult to get a match. Normally I needed two or three whites blended to get a reasonable match. The ambient lighting also makes a huge difference.

Thankfully, I never had to match a green. It's supposed to be the color that human eyes can distinguish many hues of.
