We've got a 12" pot with a home on the northeast of of our house, and it's looking for plant suggestions for next year.

This pot is a dark copper color, enjoys bird watching (specifically hummingbirds, but the nearby yew has plenty of others), beekeeping, butterfly catching, and sunning itself in the morning light into midday. It would love to have some pet caterpillars, and it occasionally wayches the local American Toad.

It is friends with some vegetable and herb pots, an azalea bush, a bunch of violets, some cinnamon ferns, hostas, blueberry bushes, a heucherella, and a yew bush.

It desires something not overly tall, ideally with pretty foliage and flowers, annual or perennial would be fine. Neighborhood chipmunks can be a problem, so discouraging them would be welcome. (The little brats couldn't care less about mint and run through it regularly to vandalize and pilfer nearby fruits.)

It previously had a pineapple sage living in it, but pineapple sage found Massachusetts zone 6 to have too short of a growing season to bloom well before frost and freeze.
