Post some pictures. I do not have any white ceilings in my house and it is just fine.

Definitely paint all your ceilings white. The Repose Gray on your walls and ceiling is so dark and heavy -- no wonder you are trying to lighten things up. In fact, maybe you could start with painting your ceilings white and see if that is enough to lighten up the rooms. Maybe use the same white color of your cabinets/trim. You don't want to start another dilemma with mismatching white colors.

Following. My Repose gray upper cabinets look nearly white (lowers are peppercorn). The walls are cliff side which looks great with my quartz countertops. So my ears always perk up when someone has a question about Repose gray. And, I need to paint ceilings next.

That doesn't seem to be dark to me at all. If you paint the kitchen white , then you lose any detail of the cabinets and will just have a wall of white. It looks really nice as is. IMO

It just depends on the look you are trying to achieve. If this is a dark side of the house and doesn't get good natural light, painting everything white may not make it that much brighter than it is now. Adding lighting would be better - a few more recessed a chandelier over the table, light in the alcove of the hood area.
