Winterizing bamboo

I have 2 new red margin bamboo that I planted this summer in a planter. They were 3 gallon when I bought them. I’m nervous for their first winter here especially in a container so I want to get them in the ground. I’m in zone 6b-7 (NJ) Some questions:

when should I transfer them out of the container and into the ground?

when should I wrap the canes up?

is burlap the best material to wrap them up in?

how to clasp the material together to make it tight?

do I need to add any nutrients to my very sandy and non nutrient soil for the bamboo? I know it’s not growing so can’t imagine but doesn’t hurt to ask.

seeing them flying in the very windy weather tonight is getting me nervous and I want to make sure they survive.

thanks!
