Are you replacing the cabinetry or considering painting the existing cabinets?

All the cabinets in one color, otherwise it will look pretty chopped up. The island could be another color if you’d like. If replacing the appliances, a counter depth refrigerator would be a plus.

Just planning to paint.

If you paint the cabinets SW First Star you will also need to change your wall paint. I would leave the cabinets white. If you want a change, paint just the island a deeper color. You can put some of the money you save toward new lighting.

Cali design, definitely will be changing the wall color. I cannot do that soon enough!!!!

In that case, choose your wall color along with the cabinet color, especially since it looks like the wall color will extend into other rooms. That may alter what you decide to do with the cabinets.

The wall color will be evening shadow by SW

In my opinion, Repose Gray will not look right with Evening Star on your walls, and make both colors look muddy. SW shows Ice Cube or Shell White as coordinating colors to Evening Star. The Shell White color might be a good bridge between the cooler wall color and the warmer hardwood floors.
