Wallpaper inside of secretary?

I have a dark wood secretary (ubiquitous in the 50s I think), and wanted to update it by wallpapering the inside of the top, glass cabinet. I've seen them painted inside before but wondering if anyone had experience with wallpapering instead.

yes, people wall paper them fairly often. Another solution is to wallpaper a piece of foam board and put it in the back of the cabinet. Then you can change it when the whim hits. You could also mount a small led battery operated light in it, to light up your display items.
