It's too bad you have that overhang on your counter. Seating there is really unnecessary/redundant/space sucker that close to a table and chairs. If you can't find a sold circle you might find one that opens with leaves and becomes an oblong. I know you don't' need it to expand but sometimes they are larger. Your space really needs some color. Perhaps you will be inspired by your choices in coverings. With a baby and large dog the sound echo would be improved by the softness too.

Thanks! Yes the overhang was there before remodel and we pulled up there a lot so we decided to keep it. Kind of central space for us since we cook a lot and kids love pulling up to help or watch with prep. I am trying to decorate since having done remodel but trying to get furniture first. I do want to add some plants or some decor to had color. I also think a rug under table is an idea. I’m open to suggestions.
