Good job Brad. No mulching here this year. Kinda sad that I have to leave so many of mine behind. Weather has been terrific here too.

Nice job Brad! I have not done it yet. My husband collects pine needles with the mower and I spread them on my beds. The needles are chopped up and break down quickly. I would rather have them not chopped, but I take help any way I can get it LOL

Julia , you said you have to leave so many behind. Are you moving ? I haven't been around here for quite a while so was surprised to read that.

I have never mulched before but the weeds this year seemed to take over so decided to dig up a bed and give it a go . I bought 20 bags of cedar mulch . Should have bought 200 . Boy , a bag doesn't cover very much and the weeds have just grown back and up through the mulch ! ACK! and how do you rake leaves off of mulch ? or do you just leave them ? There must be a trick to mulching garden beds that I haven't figured out yet.

Brad that looks fantastic , wish I had access to pine needles like t hat . I am guess they are from Scotch Pine trees? .I hear you when you say your back isn't thanking you . I know I should have started this daylily passion when I was 20 instead of when I was 50 ....oh wow writing that just now made me do a double take , I thought I had been collecting daylilies for 15 years. Now when I do the math it turns out it is 17 years. Ha ! time flies when you are having fun ........or even when you aren't I guess

That looks lovely, Brad. I have nowhere near that much done. I did get the front and most of the others mulched in spring before the virus shut me down. I have just now begun to apprroach my regular work, grooming and weeding the beds yet again. Once again, I added a good many new ones and have a lot of pots waiting for their new homes.

My daughter moved down this way and her daughter moved also, so I am seeing more family even with the virus.
