Another menu request

Second try. My first post had a few replies and then vanished. I can still see it in my activity. Whatever. Thanks to everyone who responded to my first post.

We are having a couple over next weekend to watch some of the Masters golf tournament. We met them in Augusta 20 plus years ago and after both moving all over the country we live near them again.

I ordered a cute concession food package from the Masters website. All are items they serve at the tournament. Pimento cheese, egg salad, barbecue, chocolate chip cookies, caramel corn, potato chips, logo cups and logo serving paper. I'll add some bread and rolls.

My friend is gluten free, she is bringing a GF dessert. I was going to cut up lots of celery so she could enjoy the pimento cheese and egg salad. What else should I serve? Coleslaw? The menu is already pretty mayo heavy. I'm drawing a blank.

I am so jealous!!! I immediately went to the website and then had to do some research to learn that only ticket-holders can buy these food packs. Lucky you!!!! Though I'm lucky too because I was there in 2019. I plan to make egg salad sandwiches and drink from those beer cups. :)

If you're so inclined, you can purchase gluten-free bread and wraps. Otherwise, I'd offer tortilla chips and salsa -- most gf people I know will always eat those. If she's celiac, make sure they're marked gluten-free.

If you have your green Masters pop-up seats, I'd get them out! Maybe set up a little area to take an official photo? What fun! :)

party_music, the first time we went to the tournament I was 6 months pregnant with my now 27 yo daughter. I ate 4 egg salad sandwiches! :)

If you did any serious walking on that course, you needed every one of them! It was my dream to someday see Augusta up close -- once I was in the gate, I headed straight to the 13th hole. It was uphill both ways! lol! Wonderful day there. I hope it's a great tournament this year and that you have a blast with your old friends!

The pimento cheese and egg salad would also be good in those cute mini peppers, cut in half and seeded. Very colorful.

Guacamole in those mini peppers is a great appetizer too. I cut them in half lengthwise.

ETA, cold steamed asparagus with prosciutto around it is always good.

For beverages, Arnold Palmers and John Dalys, of course! [teehee]. I’m having an Arnold Palmer right now...and considering converting it to a John Daly!

I was just staying with my friend who is gluten-free, She had rice crackers that she enjoys and serves to all, they would be good with the egg salad and pimento cheese.

Shopping list - fruit, guac (I have salsa and chips), lemonade (I have vodka and tea), rice crackers, baby peppers, vinegar coleslaw fixins. I'm feeling much better about the menu. Thanks, guys!

Is your friend going to eat the food that you have ordered and is she GF for diet reasons or because she is Celiac. If she is Celiac. unless the food was made in a cross-contamination free kitchen she may not be able to eat any of it. Just a thought.

My DIL is Celiac so it's something I'm always aware of.

She is not celiac, she just feels better if she avoids gluten.
