White spots on newly installed backsplash grout

Help! We just finished installing backsplash and when we used gray grout (Polyblend Plus) it dried blotchy with white areas everywhere. It looks awful. Any ideas on how to remove these spots? I believe it might be Efflorescence. Help! I'm so disappointed

Use a 50/50 vinegar water solution. Wet all the grout with a sponge. Brush with a stiff brush, rinse. Polyblend will end up blotchy if the grout is not mixed well making sure pigment is evenly distributed. Too soupy (too much water) in grout mixture will cause this. After mixing grout, let stand for 10 minutes or so before applying.
