I say leave it unless you tile it fully to the ceiling

I think the wall would look really good tiled all the way to the ceiling; otherwise, leave as-is.

Would your cabinet door even open if you tiled the whole area? I can't see if it has enough space. I like it the way it is. Maybe post another picture that shows the whole kitchen?

Tile to the ceiling. After seeing the whole space I think it looks empty a drop. I’m usually not one to say this but I think it’ll look neater and more “done”

I typically do not tile end walls but in your case I would. because of the visual from left and right of the door. It appears that the countertop sits flush with the door casing so the tile should just go from under the wall cabinet to the door casing. He will need to pull the switch forward to set flush on tile and finish off the top edge with either a metal trim or pencil tile.

thank you all for your input. I'm going to ask for tile to the ceiling. I think it may look awkward if I only tile to the cabinet line. that is only space across that entire wall that would have paint and it just feels off. Very much appreciate the feedback
