You have to consider the change as a whole, not individual pieces. What is the flooring in the kitchen? Will that be staying or going? How will a white kitchen tie in with the rest of the house? Will it tie in with the rest of the house? Does you upgrade meant paint cabinets and new counters, or a rip-out and re-do? If a re-do, there's a lot to consider layout-wise.

You can put quartz behind a gas range, but be prepared for scorching.

Granite would be a better choice.

Now is the time to consider replacing the over the cooktop microwave with a true exhaust fan…especially with gas. I’m not a fan of full slab backsplash (personal opinion) and I definitely would not do quartz there with a gas cooktop.

If you have painted trim you will want to carefully consider your cabinet color with it. Either match it with your cabinets or go decidedly different so it looks intentional.

And that may sway you between either quartz as that painted trim color (if it’s existing) should be looked at with the quartz samples (or you bring the paint samples to the slabs). Best done in person with actual physical materials and not online/AI, etc.
