Backsplash Help - Almost Done

I’m having a hard time choosing a backsplash. I originally thought we’d do a simple white subway tile but there so so many choices. Suddenly this Cloe White caught my eye. Would this work? Any other ideas? Our countertop is a honed black granite with very slight grayish white veining. Thank you!!

I have no idea what you are showing and why. I assume the last pic is your space . I would look at something bigger sized and not white . I would also chnge that light it casts all kinds of weird shadows on the walls and ceiling what you need are pot lights not a center fixture and if you do not want to go to the mess and hassle of doing pot lights then go looking for a nice LED track light with all 4000K bulbs then work on choosing a backspalsh

Yes the last picture is our space. I am not used to using this app so this is why it’s not clear. The light has to stay since it was just installed.

Actually it’s not even the last picture that is our space. It’s the second to last with the cherry floors.

The additional photos are of the Cloe White tile I came across

I think you’re right about samples. I have a couple of solid white ones. I am going to order the Cloe White samples to see if the variations of white are a little more pleasing. What color grout did you choose with your white backsplash? We were thinking of a very light grey.

I have a similar granite - leathered Virginia Mist - and warm white cabinets. (I do have canned lights as well as under-cabinet lighting.) Getting samples is a great idea, since you can see how they will appear in YOUR space - not online or in a showroom. I ended up with warm white 3x12 subway-type tiles and they work for me, but there are a lot of gorgeous colors out there, too. The grout is Frost - a very light gray. Good luck!

We have a contemporary kitchen with white glossy cabinets. The backsplash is white glass tile 3x 12 with bright white grout. After living with it for a year now very light gray would have looked good as well. Our island has a striking black and white granite so we wanted that to be the star. there are so many choices I figured if I wanted to change the backsplash out in a couple of years it isn't a big deal. Whatever you choose it should flow with the rooms that can be seen from the kitchen. IMO

The Chloe tiles might fight with the cherry floor for attention.

    Good point. Thanks.

I admired the Chloe tiles when I saw them in this kitchen. ^^ I'm glad to hear that you're getting samples because I'm wondering if it needs a lot of natural light to show its variation and/or shine.

If you like the square shape, you could look at Winchester tiles www.winchestertiles.com

It does look very subtle in certain photos like in the photo you shared. Others I’ve seen have more variation and even more grey.

Try Tilebar and look at the Portmore. they have many other colors, but it mimics the Cloe tile

    https://www.tilebar.com/portmore-white-3x8-glazed-ceramic-tile.html

and they have this Blush color that would look dynamite w/your cherry floors. You don't have to settle w/white.

Don't know if you're doing hardware (you should), but a rose gold pull w/any of these blush tiles,,,,,Stunning!

even this rose gold knob w/white center is pretty

    order some samples

Wayfair also carries this line under Kingston tile.

another option is doing these light blush Zellige tiles in a herringbone layout.

it looks great w/the black and white. CleTile carries a similar color called cherry blossom

or this one called Drift. it's white but has a very faint blush tone. Again, would look great w/your floors.

also comes in a pure white. I like the 1x4 chevron mosaic too.

Thanks Beth for all of the suggestions. You gave me some things to think about. I like the portmore. I actually ordered some samples from the tilebar. After getting the samples, I was slightly concerned about not ordering tile from someone local I could return to it needed. Have you had good experience with them?

Tilebar is great. really good customer service. AND, they have $10 flat rate shipping. Other places can charge you hundreds for freight shipping

what do you mean 'returns'? that's why you order samples! If you're really unsure, order a few square feet. you'll spend $40 or so, but at least you'll have a good idea of what it will look like

But even if you buy from a local place, they will still charge you a restocking fee on all returns. Are you aware of that? (unless you buy tile at home depot or lowes. I don't think they charge you. but tile stores will)

some of tilebars tiles are avail at Home Depot under diff names. (like the Newport or Montauk) just depends which ones you're looking at.

BTW, I really like that Oasis tile in the herringbone layout. I think that would look great w/your kitchen.

I'm considering the Cloe tile for our new build kitchen with dark countertops (Silestone Charcoal Soapstone quartz). I actually ordered a whole box of tiles to make sure I could see the color variance. There are almost gray tiles, pure white tiles and warm white tiles within the same box. Depending on the size of your backsplash (and budget), you could have your tiler omit any of the tiles you consider too warm (or too gray), but the color variation is what makes the tile interesting, IMO.
