Hi! How did you get the color of your faucets? Did you strip the plating off of it to reveal the brass underneath?

Hi -thanks for your note. I wish it were that simple! Unfortunately, most new plumbing fixtures are not made of entirely solid brass, but rather components of brass and various pot metals. Because of this, just stripping a new faucet will not reveal a beautiful natural brass underneath. We had the chrome plating removed and then had the faucets electromagnetically plated with a brass finish and we left off the lacquer. That gives you a live finish that will naturally patina with age. As with all plated plumbing parts though, be careful with what cleaning products you use, because it is still a finish which can wear off with abrasive scrubbing. Good luck!

Thank you! What sort of place do you go to in order to have it plated?

You'll need to find an electromagnetic plater. I don't know where you live, but if you're anywhere in my area, I use Danbury Metals in Connecticut. Good luck!
