Thoughts on the Entry Door

My current house has a single solid door (no glass) with sidelites. We are moving to FL and were thinking of doing a 3/4 lite door with clear glass. I like the idea of the light coming into the house however now I'm concerned about afternoon sun and the heat that would be coming through. I like glass doors and feel like they are more welcoming than a solid door. However, I don't live in the area yet so I don't know the effects of a glass door. I would love input especially from those in the sunshine state! I've attached a rendering of the house just to give you some context. Thank you in advance for the helpful advice regarding the front door.

What direction does the front of the house face?

Is this a new build or is it already built? If a new build, can you make changes?

New build.. Can't make any changes now as we are getting ready to dig. House faces in the west .

No brackets under the eaves. Your house is leaning towards prairie/ranch style.

I don't see an issue with the glass door selection. You could do a seeded or reeded glass to sort of diffuse if you wish. Or you could compromise and go with a craftsman style door, that way not soooooo much light is let in.

I would not do glass with it facing west.

One other suggestion would be to forget the stone at the bottom of the house as it cuts the house in half. Continue the siding to the ground instead.
