FP wall help needed!

Yeah its a mess....thinking to mount TV, either a 55" which I already own or upgrade to 65" on swing arm to right of FP just above chest (30"H). As you probably guessed the house was built late 60s. I want to keep the design transitional and am leaning towards stone surround, possibly soapstone. Should this be a gallery wall? Maybe a mirror in center and art on sides? I'd like to incorporate lighting somehow as well. Also considering a casual chandelier below in my effort to make the space more inviting, tho not sure if it works. Any all suggestions would be great. Thanks.

The chest is too tall to work as an end table which should arrive 1" above or below the arm of your seating. Looks like the round one is your best end table. What is the difference in width between the two chests and the demi-lune table? What is the lighter colored table opposite the sofa? I'm thinking you may have too many casegoods here that are all the same height as your sofa and chair backs (more or less,) and you're drawing visual line around the room. Show us the wall opposite the sofa, please.

Never mind, I'll move over to your other post.

Thanks calidesign, if artwork above FP, am concerned there might be too much empty wall space to right and left of FP, though maybe I'm over thinking it. The FP surround and mantle work has been delayed, due to leaking issues which hopefully will be corrected soon. The chest is too high. The sofa can be shifted to the left allowing for an end table, but then sofa will be off kilter in relation to the window. I'll move it there and post pic tomorrow.

Thanks decoenthusiaste, oh, I think you are so correct that everything is too similar in height and it does feel like too many case goods- --welcome to my furniture orphanage. I brought this along to this new-to-me downsize house. Thought it would be good to have some furniture so that the room is functional until I figure out a better plan, but don't really know how to begin the edit. Open to buying new furniture. Demi lune and chests are all 30" high, and, youare correct the chest is too high to be located next to sofa. Though there would be room for an end table on right of sofa if it were slid to the left. The light table is a round end. See below and also pic of wall opposite sofa below, pls ignore the unintentionally placed plants and decor.

round table to left of sofa

Would a sofa like the one below help break things up at all?

Tv above the FP don’t think a 65” will look proportionate... but sounds awesome! Lol. Anyways I’d do molding or wainscoting along the entire wall and add sconces to the sides of the FP as you stated you wanted lighting. I like the light choice you picked but I think we and do better! ☺️
You’ve done a great job so far. Looks good!

Also, totally love the slipcover sofa. And I say go for it. But you don’t NEED it. The one you have looks good and is super similar. I’d add a rug and new coffee table

You don't need to fill the whole wall. If the tv is over the chest on the right, with vertical artwork over the fireplace, the art and fireplace will have the height and be the focus for the wall. You can use an end table with a lamp, or a floor lamp, or a tall plant for the area to the left of the fireplace.

Thanks HU-187528210 - Thanks. I agree about keeping sofa and chairs sincde that they are in good condition, but I guess I started looking casually since was having trouble finding on a rug / paint, but probably didn;t devote enough time to it. Maybe it will be easier to pull together if I wait on a rug until artwork is chosen. Any thoughts on what size artwork? Btw, I have two threads on basically the same topic, thinking it would be helpful, but I found out its better to just stick with one and trying to move over to the other: living room layout help.

Thanks calidesign. Will sgtart looking for artwork for above FP. Do you have and recommendations where to shop fo art?

I know this is off topic, but I am considering an Ahren fireplace system, do you have any experience with Ahren?
