IMo way too much beach. Ther eis no reason to have seashells just because you live a the beach. I really dislike the bedding it is too much and has no connection to the wall color I like the little arrangement on the dresser that is all the beach you need.These would be kind of what would work I think

I must agree with @Patricia Colwell Consulting that the bedding is a bit over the top with all the starfish, but I think you can still work with it.

Fold the starfish bedding to the end of the bed, only showing a bit of the starfish, just enough to show that the theme that the bedroom is coastal.

Here is some inspiration to help you see what a coastal with pink accents can look like. Going a bit subtle on the coastal, but giving you your colors. I think you can easily achieve this look in your room.

I love the large seashell and accessories on the dresser!

If you really like your starfish comforter, I do like the idea of folding it into thirds and place at the bottom of the bed as an accent.

I've been looking at BM First Light also for my bedroom. Pretty color. I would get ivory bedding and fold the starfish comforter at the foot of the bed and bring in the pink and ivory in some pillows.

I think with your wall color one of the first things you should address is the lighting. It looks like you have 2700 k light bulbs in the ceiling fan and the ceiling fan fixture is not very modern. I love a ceiling fan in the bedroom and if I were doing a beach theme I would probably get a fan with the big leaf shaped paddles. I would add some additional lamps and make sure the bulbs were daylight bulbs, which will give you a cleaner, sunny beach vibe. The pink tones will also look much nicer without the yellow color from the 2700 k lights.

As for the bedding I would want to have some pink that relates to the color on the wall, but I would probably bring in some blue or blue green - beach has sand, water, and the beautiful pink sunset over the water, but I feel you are missing the water.

I like getting ideas from "Touch of Class". They have all their home decor organized by theme. I like to mix things up a bit and agree your comforter isn't adding anything to your room. I may not go with beach theme bedding, but I would look at the ideas and colors in Touch of Class for inspiration.

I would also look for wall art and area carpets for inspiration. Usually what happens for me is I find that one piece that speaks to me and the rest of the space is built around that item.

Warning - I like bolder colors than most. . .

In my living room it was an area carpet that worked with my cream sofa.

For my bedroom it was a comforter

The common themes in my home are nature, wildlife art and shades of blue green/teal.

Find something you love and the rest will come together.

There is always a fine line using a themed look (other than in a child’s bedroom). Coastal can be achieved in more subtle ways and consider a fresh, simple layered look and include natural elements. This will create a calm oasis.

Hello all, I finally found the pink & green comforter from Society 6 and the stitching is awful. There is a big square right in the middle that looks awful. Very different from the quilt g in the picture on their website. There are also numerous marks on it. I emailed the company, sent pictures & voiced my disappointment and they did refund my money but they don’t want the comforter returned. Any ideas on how to make it work?
