Before you do anything, check the grading make sure it's not back-pitched or has a low spot near the foundation and allowing the water to collect on that side where you have the water issue, check the gutters, make sure they not clogged and overflow, and leaders extended far enough.

Most basement water issues are due to improper grading or gutter issue.

Inside drains are almost always the worst way to stop water issues. Even if the water is stopped from entering the living space, the leak is still there continuing to damage the wall.

One of the last leaking basements we had, we excavated the foundation from the outside, discovering the culprit crack. Then, for good measure, wrapped the foundation in layers of fg coated with fibrated asphalt followed by fg drainage insulation. Now, there are simpler exterior remedies.
