Some fall photos.

I think this is Queen of the Seas.

Gr. Ex. looking up.

Abiqua Drinking Gd. had one of the brightest fall colors for a hosta.

Blue Cadet. An inexpensive hosta that is worth every penny.

BME sandwiched in between two large hosta! Poor June Fever is being swallowed up too! Outstanding spring coloring in June Fever warrants a move to a better location. OR may just remove some of the NOID hosta (left side).

Thanks all. I love taking photos of the plants but never seem to get enough time to do it. Fall coloring is quite variable from year to year. By the end of the year the hosta can look pretty ratty too.

Nicholsworth, have another look outside. You may just find something pretty.

Utog, nope, I'm not a photographer. A good camera or cell phone and some basic photography knowledge is helpful. Also there is a lot of good basic information online. Photography is one of those things that one soon realizes there is a lot to learn. I found a free photography course online through my public library. I'm thinking of trying it out after Christmas.

Peren.all, we got snow too. The hosta are now dormant. I still have pots to put away.

Here are a couple more photos I found:

High Society was struggling in a pot. I put it in a spin out bag last year and now it seems happier.

Blue Mouse Ears in a pot.

Arum Italicum. Photo taken today, November 24th. Snow knocked it down, but it is springing back up. I vote it one of my most interesting plants.

Largest leaf measures about 1 foot.

The plant center left (Corydalis) is one that surprised me the most. It was long lived in my garden and only now is showing signs of distress. It flowered, it seemed, continuously with delicate white flowers. It self seeded. I thinned out some of the seedlings and left the rest.

Lastly, I love this plant. It's not mine. I photographed it recently when I visited my local library. The library gardens are very pretty and is looked after by my horticultural society. I have seen this plant during my neighborhood walks and have taken other photos of it. I find it to be photogenic. I don't know it's name, do you? I think it likes a lot of sun---which I don't have. I am willing to find sun somewhere on my property!

newhostalady..what a pretty post!..I haven't been in my garden much but what I've noticed when I was coming and going wasn't very pretty Lol..I should take a better look..

NHL, your photos are beautiful! You must be a photographer, because those are some well-composed shots.

The ADG looks like a fall party. Each plant looks so good in their fall colors, a complete identity change. Thank you for sharing!

Yours make their exit is such a glorious way. What a lovely sight, mine are done and covered in about 6" of snow.

You really know how to take fall pics! Both GE photos are beautiful! I agree with you about Blue Cadet being a worthwhile oldie to have.

Is it all right that I'm glad to see someone else has hostas swallowed up by other hostas? When we first planted them it looked like they had plenty of room, right? lol.

A guess on your mystery plant.... looks like Myrtle Spurge. Do you know if it flowers yellow?

Sandyslopes, I do remember you had shown us some of your really pretty fall photos in the past! Did you take any photos this fall?

I am glad you agree about Blue Cadet. Blue Cadet is so pretty when it just emerges in the spring. I find the shape of the hosta very pleasing also. It has a pretty blue color for part of the season. And it's cheap = winner!

Once upon a time, there seemed to be more than enough room for all to grow! My front garden and back garden grow completely different. By back garden is infested with tree roots and grows slowly. I not used to having plants actually grow well---as they do in my front yard where the BME's photo was taken.

I think you are right about the plant being Myrtle Spurge. I don't recall if the flowers were yellow. I will have a look next spring.
