Hi, Gina ... can you show the rest of the room?

Just going by these pictures, I think absolutely a rug would look nice, feel warmer/softer, and anchor the seating area. And yes on pillows, too. I don’t know what styles, colors, etc you like to suggest specific ones, but I’d definitely bring in some texture with them (and maybe a throw?).

I would advise removing the white sofa or put it in any other direction as it is not looking the part of the room. And yes you must go for a rug, that should contrast with your picture and surely with the rest of the room, to give it a complete look. Pillows will work great to add colors and enhance the room!

You should go for the first one that is white or maybe 2nd but the last pillow in grey is not your room color, so I will not recommend that!

Ok....So should just the front legs of the couch be on the area rug and 12 inches from the wall? I was hoping to do a sold sisal or a minimal pattern. Do I get the carpet first and then pick the throw pillows? I have no clue 😩

Since you’re doing a fairly monochromatic scheme, I don’t think it matters which you get first.

Yes, I prefer all of the furniture or just the front legs on the rug. I think it looks more anchored that way.
