The backsplash is the place that can be a show stopper or very simple. You have a simple counter and neutral white cabinets.

Anything can go here. I know someone who just put in an eye-popping mosaic tile. While I can appreciate the artistry of this type of backsplash, it would make me dizzy looking at it every day.

We just put in a simple gray 3x12 tile. Some might find it boring.

It's very difficult for us to say what you would like, not knowing you.

Your kitchen looks to be an open concept. What are the other colors you will be using? Your kitchen can either go traditional or transition.

I am not a fan of high contrast mosaics, because they more often end up looking overly busy. It's a hard look to pull off. But your kitchen is as well positioned to pull it off as any, since with the white on white, it lets the tile be the star (and that tile would brook no competition for the spotlight). Here's a mockup of it on the whole lower wall. Only you can decide if it is too much.

I use Word for my mockups, nothing fancy. It isn't very sophisticated as a graphics editor, but you can crop, layer, and remove backgrounds from images, and that's all I did here.

Too busy. I think a white background tile that has a little pattern, perhaps bring in the blues of your cabinets and some gold tones would look good.
