Please help: Kitchen table chairs ideas

Please comment on table, chairs...live in FL..looking for more streamlined look. Is keeping this table a possibility? What set would look good? Any suggestions regarding lamp also? As an FYI, our kitchen cabinets are white. Anything else that catches your eye...let me know!

Thanks!

Looks like a conference room at a bank in NYC. Definitely needs to be lightened up. I love the table; can it be refinished in a lighter color?

I would get chairs that are less bulky. I would look for chairs that are open on the sides and back. Being able to see through the chairs lessens the heaviness of wood. Where did you get the bar chairs?

Oh, the bar chairs are going! We just purchased the home and they need to be replaced. Any suggestions on the ceiling lamp? Do you think a glass table would work? Thank you kindly!
