I would try to match the wood, and then add a large entry rug that ties all of the colors together.

How old are the floors? How long will you keep the colour that is currently there?

I know golden slate (or a porcelain that mimics Golden Slate) looks STUNNING with this wood colour.

Can you do the same flooring that is in the powder room?

I would try to match the wood floor and add a rug IMO that look with tile is not attractive. Unless this is the entry you use all the time I would not have a bunch of coats hanging there just bring out the tree whan you have guests. I for sure would do something darker on the entry if you want tile .

I like the darker gray slate tiles. I could still use a white with gray/black vein porcelain in the powder room which will complement each other. This is the primary house entrance so wood floors at the front door don’t work as we live in Toronto & winter snow/ water would be hard on it. Removing coat tree would make the area look neater. I agree.

We’ve decided on our tiles for the above entrance way. Going with a darker grey. What size tile should we be using? 12”x24” or 24”x48”. The entrance (door side) is 52” & where it meets the wood floor at the hall 60”.
Depth 60”. We want to minimize grout lines & wastage. Suggestions also if we should lay them in brick look or stacked look??
