As is usual in the creations you share here, once again you've made a work of art that seems almost too beautiful to eat, and that seems far too delicious not to.

Instead of a turkey my sister in law made a roast prime rib.

OMG, that photo is making my mouth water!! I am such a carnivore!

I am planning prime rib and Yorkshire pudding for Christmas. Can't wait :-)

We did the complete turkey with all the extras. And decided after that it is as much work for two as it is for a crowd, with the only difference being we ate less of it. DH is not wild about turkey leftovers. Thursday, Friday, and by Saturday he asked if we could have a steak that night ;0)

Think we will go the prime rib route for Christmas, or since we typically would do that New Years Day, maybe something else festive, I'll see what's available. Possibly even crab by then although the season hasn't begun yet here - there is always that chance it will be available live (not yet opened for the fishermen).

Those are goji berries. One of the many fun things to do for the covid-19 cooking is to incorporate "folk medicine" ideas. Doesn't matter if they work or not.

Goji berries are supposed to be beneficial for the lungs, and improve immunity.

Hey, may be that's why covid-19 is under good control in many Asian countries. 7 covid deaths for 25 million people in Taiwan?!!!!

Thanks. My sister-in-law has made a prime rib roast exactly twice, but she follows a procedure that she claims is foolproof, irrespective of the size of the roast. I'll have to ask her for specifics. But the basic process is preheat the oven, place roast in oven, after 1 hour turn off the heat, and do not open the oven door. Leave the roast there until 40 minutes before it is to be served. Turn oven back on for 30 minutes, remove roast and let it rest for 10 minutes. Carve and serve.
