Advice on Wilting Echeverias

I have two Echeverias in a garden area that probably does not get enough water. They are wilting and the outside leaves are getting soft. This makes me think "root rot" but the species might also develop soft outer leaves from insufficient water. Does anyone have thoughts on what it might be based on the photos?

I think I own this same Echeveria🙂.

Top pic’s Echeveria looks thirsty. It’s been so dry because we’ve only had one good rain this fall, and nothing since. No rain in the 10 day forecast either.

Last pic’s Echeveria looks like something is going on down in the middle center growth, like the stem rotted, but it’s hard to tell. Give the leaves a little tug to see if they’re still attatched.

@Kara I need to redo the irrigation lines in that area as the emitters I am using are not perfusing the coarse soil mix. The larger one is a concern. The leaves on the perimeter are soft and pull off. I guess I should remove the plant and inspect the root system for rot?
