Geeze Michelle, what kind of girls do you think we are?
    slow ones!!!!!
Were already on our way LOL, squeezed into the leather pants from 92 with a bit of electrical tape to hide the, well never mind that part. Have to stop to get matching "RIDE " tattoos and a scull ring. HAHAHA

What? You don't have yours yet?
Truck is unloaded. The blocks are sitting on the back driveway waiting for me to play Lego with them tomorrow. And I'm cheap... I refuse to pay for delivery when I can do it myself. Actually I refuse to pay for anything that I could do myself. :)
    nasmijati thanked Robin W
Oh lordy, does that mean you are going to tattoo me?
What are the blocks for, Robin? You are stubborn... just like me :)
Bahahaha!!! I could never tattoo - not even a pet! Let alone a human!!!

Blocks are for the backs of the raised garden beds so the dirt sits away from the fence.
Cheaper than the decorative blocks used for the fronts...

Groveraxle is so funny, she always cracks me up. I'm at a restaurant, waiting for check, thank goodness it's loud here, because I can't stop laughing, lol
  • 13 years ago
    Smart thinking, Robin.

STK, well I outta!!!!! Geeze man, it was only a week ago you could barely walk and were flat on the couch, you then progressed to a cane, with several breaks in the day. You can get that brick work done another time!!!!!!! or hire someone else to do it. Did you go to the doc?
Hip and leg pain are BRUTAL, is it you sciatic nerve?
Ez, whats up, got a breakfast date? You know we need adult supervision!!!
How's the getting fired plan going Candace? Seems you still have that job with those crazy hours, lol.
Awful but thanks for asking. This morning when the power was out for hours and I couldn't get ready or get the vehicle out of the garage, I thought for sure would be the final straw. Ohhhhhh Nooooooooo, I receive this text: powers out, you okay?, get here when ever, no rush. So once I was already 2 hours late I texted back: can't put mascara on in the dark, not ready at all, no power so the garage door is not going up. Only to receive a: no problem get here when you can. REALLY!!!!!!
I need a master plan, was hoping for another Thunderstorm but I can't get the clouds to cooperate. No point in giving myself a flat because that won't work either.

Olldcan, it's not the sciatic nerve......the hip joint itself, (ball end) is deformed as a result of the Acromegaly....throw in the ongoing and continual muscle and joint fatigue from the condition and you have the perfect storm for ongoing serious disability results. This is a condition (acromegaly) I've been fighting for the past 13 years since the tumor was diagnosed. There is no cure, only controlling the condition as best we can and dealing with the continual surprises.......the hip issues became apparent last summer when I slipped in some mud and the resulting stress fracture to the femoral neck revealed the abnormal growth to the femoral ball going into the hip............the only solution is a full hip replacement, but since the monthly meds are "growth inhibitors" there is much concern if the replacement is even an option now. You would think that a friggin shot that retails for $10K per month would not only inhibit the growth hormone, it would regenerate all the damage as well along with a new kidney and replace those little damn blue pills ........

I work while I can, when it gets too painful or fatigued I'm done for the day..........Vicodin is my friend. I can't just sit around all day long doing nothing........not my style and besides it doesn't do any good for me. I can sit for 3 days doing nothing and within a couple of hours of activity the pain is worse and the fatigue sets in..........it is what it is.

Today I laid out the bricks in a dry pattern and trimmed 12 brick with the wet saw and my day was over.................tomorrow we'll make some more headway if the weather holds up.

Olldcan, this is the life of somebody with Acromegaly and the life long battle that comes with it..........we adapt, we adjust, we improvise and we're slower at accomplishing things............that's just the way it is..... and eventually some complication from the condition does us in. My Endo spoke the truth when she said this was a life altering diagnosis and I suspect she was also correct in her prognosis that it will cut 10-15 years off my life line...........................

I will be going back to the Ortho soon as it's quite apparent the cortisone shot has wore off now (6 weeks) and we're back to where we were 2 months ago...............on to plan B......whatever that is.

Olldcan, I live every day with the thought that pain and heartaches aren't options in this life...........misery is a choice. I do what I can for as long as I can and then I rest until I can go again..............one day, two days or whatever it takes at a time.
Olldcan.... you could always go postal in the office with a paintball gun.............I'm betting that would get you fired and think of the opportunity to meet new friends in the slammer or institution..............or both........just a though.

STK, you're a strong fella. Many less hardy souls would have folded up and shut themselves in and laid themselves down. Fighting isn't just noble, it's necessary to live as fully as possible with such a crap deal and shitty prognosis. Always hoping that all the money given to research would actually make it to some kind of cure or cessation of progression. It's heartbreaking to hear your story, but heartwarming to hear you rage against the machine. Keep it up, not just a funny, sharp minded and sharp tongued Memphis man but a strong man too. It's my pleasure to "know" you :)
She doesn't need the institution, she logs in here, isn't that enough?;)
STK, you'll be your best Policeman and slow way down and rest when needed. I know you were hurting and I can understand wanting to keep on rollin but I hate to see someone hurting, that's no fun:(
Is another shot of Cortisone an option?

I'm thinking stripes.....vertical......quite wide...... tone on tone, flat/gloss, might be nice as a backdrop to the bars. I know they'd have soup there daily plus not only could I meet some new friends, I could visit some family.
Thank you Olldcan......I guess the Doctor will tell me whether or not another shot is an option.... I've had quite a few of the Cortisone shots and it's my understanding that eventually they catch up with you.......so we'll see. As far as the pain thing, that's an everyday thing..... on a scale of 1-10, my normal days are a 5-6.....7-8, I'm more limited and an 8-10 day I may not even get out of bed......that's just the way it is................

One good thing this weekend.... we found a new car for Lisa.........Hyundia Tuscon (CUV), all wheel drive and so far we love it..............glade that didn't take long, I literally detest car shopping.
K, I was totally kidding about the family thing.

Just watching out for ya STK :)

Car shopping, house shopping. both horrible. Glad you found something you both like and quickly. It may be much easier to get in and out of for you.
    I'll bet Candace, I'll bet ;)
LOL, notice how STK skipped right over that comment and made no reference to it in his response. Gee, what do you do with something like that :) just trying to spice it up a bit.
Hahaha, I'm the only one appreciating the humor tonight, but that doesn't say much for you Candace, I am a little "disturbed" myself ;)
Don't worry Candace, I'm ignored all the time. You get used to it.
    See?
I try Michelle, guess I'll have to take it elsewhere.
What I wouldn't give for some chocolate right now.
There's some awesome lounges on the way to Vegas, I suggest that you open for me at a few of them, thank you, we'll be here all week, folks !!! ;)
Would you stand on your head in an ant farm while balancing a golf club on your big toe? For a piece of Toblerone?
    I have gummy bears.
I might just, Michele! Mmmm... gummy bears!

Yeah, you've got gummy bears and some art and a great deal on lamps. Good night for you Angela, yay!!
    Yes, it was.
I just had an Oreo ice cream sandwich. Want one Kimdee? I have 3 more in the freezer that need to leave my house before I eat them.
    Oh, that sounds soooo good!
I'm serious. They need out of my house! I have no idea why I bought them!!!
Robin-most of the time now I do not even buy serious snacks anymore. I just eat it while I am out. Crazy but it works for me.
I absolutely CANNOT bring that stuff home. I will eat it. All of it. In short order. So I figure, if it's not here, it's not going in my mouth. I've been craving chocolate all night but there isn't a stitch of it in the house. If I REALLY wanted it that badly I could go get something. But I didn't... too lazy.

Sometimes, though... you just have to have a treat.
    Gummi bear is mine.
I found a recipe today for homemade gummi bears. Yay Pinterest.

@STK...Has anyone (MD's) mentioned exploring nerve blocks? Usually ends up being done in a pain management type of setting...several pain specialists I have worked with are MDA's (Doctors of anesthesia).
