Sounds like the problem I had with my Samsung. After many "repairs", I finally gave up and bought a new refrigerator . . . told the delivery guys to toss the old one off the bridge on their way back to the shop. Aggravating!

I’ve had a Summit for about ten years and had only one problem that was easily remedied. I don’t remember the exact problem, but I think it was freezing at the bottom shelve. I pulled the refrigerator away from the wall to check the coils in the back (it has wheels and was easy to move) and found that the installers had failed to remove all the foam packing and the drain tube wasn’t draining properly. If I recall, the drain cup was filled with water. It should be empty as the water evaporates, but the foam was blocking it. I emptied the cup and removed the packing foam. It’s worked fine since then.

I would like to thank beaniebakes for the comments on drain tube issues. Drain cup was the clue and led us to discover the frozen drain. We had repeated ice buildup on the floor of the freezer and then it started to leak out of the corners at the bottom onto our hardwood floors. With your comments, we were able to resolve that issue. New discovery is that the bottom freezer door is mounted so that the space between door and refrigerator box is uneven on hinge side. So the gasket compresses more on the bottom hinge, which tweaks the upper corner on the opening side of door causing an uneven seal. Now, to figure out THAT one! (We've had the fridge for about 4 years and have been happy with it overall.)
