Your island light would look great over your dining table. Then I would have recessed lighting put in the kitchen and add two pendants over the island. I am not a fan of clear glass becuace it is glaring to look at with a 100watt bulb, and I cant stand 4k its like a hospital. I would rather have 3k with forced light much like you have now in the island light.

Thank you for the feedback. I was thinking of pendent lighting over the island and linear over the table.

If I would do glass globes over the penninsula, like the Wayfair 3 light linear pendant, what would look good over the table? I also like the pendant lighting over the penninsula and a linear over the table.

I like the shiplap on the end and front if the penninsula. Would i paint it the same color as my walls, accessible beige?

if you can do two pendants over the peninsula, do that. (someone would have to create two new holes, run the electrical off the one to make another, and patch and paint the old hole. Not difficult to do.

I'd pick two of your globe pendants that you like best. there are tons of them that are inexpensive.

Do you think you can switch out the 'boob' light on the ceiling to something better? super simple to swap out one of the others I showed you. that one w/the wood trim and 3 lights is at Lowes. Kichler is the brand.

Don't forget the lightbulbs in the 100W, 4000K temp. very important you get this lighting temperature done.

for the table light, I'd do something w/the black metal and whatever style you like.

switch out your hardware to a simple handle. You can easily find one that matches your current hold spacing. measure the hole distance and shop using that measurement. you may have to convert it to mm's.

I'd do something simple and modern looking like these. buy them in the contractors pack or package of 25 or more, and save.

Overstock has these, CAuldham.

just to show you what the black accents do w/oak cabinets. don't forget your lighting!

The peninsula. I'd paint it a soft white. White Dove or Alabster would be fine.

here's the front shot of that one I showed you. and the link

OR, how about a nice matte black? do the black ship lap on the side and around the front.

that would be really nice w/the black hardware and lighting.

let me get a few more examples for you in the next comment.

peninsula shiplap. diff ways to do it. HowTo here

this one ^, gives you diff ways to trim out the peninsula.

for specific looks, here you go:

or, maybe you like this

you could even get real oak boards like this one:

and stain them to match, stain them ebony, or even paint them. This black stained oak in the chevron looks cool. notice the bottom piece used as molding

simple enough to do. don't forget the base molding around the bottom for a finished look

simple trim molding you just prime and paint

maybe you want something cool on the front panel?

I like the shiplap idea....if you decide to do it please post after pics

@darcieann19, please let us know what you decide. I would love to see pics of your final plan. I came across your post as I am also considering shiplap for my kitchen peninsula that is similar to yours.

Beth H, I have the very first 3-light fixture photo you posted above my table and love it. My husband is tall and doesn’t like looking through or around light fixtures. I am not tall, but think like that after 45 years. The varied heights offer a “chandelier” feeling, but is casual enough for our lake area home. I repeated the bubble glass in 2 hall close to ceiling fixtures and our outside lighting as well.
The first fixture was purchased through Houzz!
