Have you looked into what it would cost to move plumbing? And instead of gas have you considered switching to induction which is even better than gas? So then all you'd need to switch is water.

no we have not looked into that, but I am open to it. How would you lay it out if water and gas were not an issue?

Ideally, the stove and fridge should have some space between it. That way when you have your hands full of food, you can set it down someplace. Alternative - a kitchen cart on wheels in the middle of the room. I have one of those, and I couldn't live without it.

The ideal layout would be to move the sink under the window with the dishwasher to the right. The range on the garage wall and the refrigerator where the range is. You could then put a dining table on the end of the room where the doors are. That layout would require the windows to be replaced and you would be changing the location of all the appliances and plumbing. Very expensive and involved. It might be worth it to have a functional kitchen.

I misunderstood where the fridge is, it could stay put. I can't imagine having a sink visible from the front entry though. I think most people would want it somewhere else.

Could you change the door to your living room to be next to the fridge and close up the current door? if you do that you could have an l shape with a banquette in the opposite corner, which may give you enough room to separate your fridge and range.

If you stacked the washer/dryer to the left of the sink you could shut the back door and add a shower to the master bath. Are the kitchen windows sliders to the back yard?

Do you have the original plans to the home? I agree with cpartist to look into moving the gas and water line and moving down the garage door a few feet. close off the hidden back door to create a much larger ensuite. the wall with garage door, you will have a line of storage cabinets, fridge and stove and the window wall will have the sink. the wall with the sink you can definitely create a laundry area but you may have to give up some kitchen and bathroom space
