Who To Contact for Built-ins?

So I'm a new homeowner - well, soon to be - so my knowledge is very limited. However, I do know that I want a built-in to be put next to my new fireplace. There is some space there and it would be perfect for a built-in.

I'm just not sure of my next steps. I don't think this is something I want to tackle on my own. Do I need a contractor?

Here is a photo - this has the old owners stuff in it. The space to the left of the fireplace is where I'm thinking we can put a built-in.
