I have a multi-grafted Asian Pear tree - probably about 4 years old now. The Shinseiki graft has some white puffs near the top that look like they might be a fungus of some type. But doing some searching, I haven't found similar mentioned as a normal problem for Asian Pear trees. Can you tell what it might be based on the attached pic? I'm guessing my best option is to cut off that graft an inch or two below the branches that have the white puffs on them? Unless there's some kind of safe/organic 'fungus killer' that can be sprayed on it. It's sounding like neam oil might be able to help if it is really a fungus.

I brushed off one to try to see if they are actually growing out of the branches, or just attached to the surface of the branches. Definitely just on the surface, not growing out of the branches. So I think that tells me I probably don't need to cut off any of the branches. And, again, it makes me think neam oil might be my best option to suffocate it where it is. Rather than high power water stream, which might then spread it to other places.

Any ideas on what it is, and best way to handle it?
