We are in process of updating the wood railing around our dining table. We will be replacing the plexiglass with flat black iron vertical spindles (you can’t see in photo but plexiglass has scratches). We are trying to figure out a paint for the wood railing (both handrail and vertical beams). We don’t want to go the sanding / staining route because 1) it’s super expensive and 2) there will be cuts in the wood we can hide better with wood filler / paint. What color do people think would look nice? We are gravitating towards some of the softer browns. We have read matte paint is a bad idea for high traffic areas but would semi gloss look bad on wood with imperfections or would a brown hide that? Any ideas are appreciated!
