Ardisia spp?

Hmm, Ardisia does look similar, but its leaves don't look as radial and its berries always seem to droop, instead of just stick out erect?

Carolina Buckthorn (Rhamnus caroliniana) also looks similar, but it doesn't have such large berry clusters and they are suppose to still turn black when fully ripe.

Sooo, still at a loss here?

Really not much like Carolina buckthorn. Perhaps a Photinia.

Hmm, yes, invasive Photinia serratifolia (Taiwanese Photinia) looks fairly close...doh!

If it was intentionally planted at a park it could very well be the ubiquitous Fraser's Photinia.

No, they generally don't landscape the park, except maybe in a few very select areas...

And Photinia serrulata (Taiwanese Photinia) is a known invasive around here. So, is very likely it.

I don't think it's Fraser's Photinia (Photinia x fraseri), because I've never noticed it colored bright red..
