Thank you, Patricia. I ask because we are using the Schluter-Kerdi system and their only choices are square. It's not letting me paste a pic of their normal square cover. The bathroom itself is traditional.

Yes, you need to use a square cover. It can be set on the diagonal, if you like that better. With the custom covers, at least you can coordinate better with the look of your tile.
