Days may be getting longer, very incrementally, but we still have the worst of the winter weather ahead of us! Come back in March and then we can talk about it's being all uphill :-)

its the dingiest grayest ugliest rainy POC day of the year ... real hard not to kill myself looking out the window .... [probably a typical PNW type of day.. lol]....

in fact.. ive put on most the lights in the house just to try to offset it all ...

and the ONLY upside is... tomorrow will be light a little longer.. if we get any light ...

odds are we arent going to see the star/planet show tonight ...

Very typical :-) It is gray and disgustingly wet outside today.....pouring rain!! But we have had some really nice weather recently so I can't complain too much. And not overly cold....mid 50's.

tomorrow will be light a little longer..

All of a full minute!! That's just a bit too slow for me :-)

I was looking at the cold, dreary months ahead, but I like being reminded about it getting lighter every day. That helps!

Here's the upside to the terrible Augusts we have here in Texas. It was sunshiny and 70 degrees yesterday. Of course, they aren't all like that, but I appreciate it when there is sunshine, no matter the temp.

pretty nice here..43° and sunny..my ferns were snowed under but they look perfect again 🙂..

Sunny and 57 degrees w/o a cloud in the sky. Might get some rain on Christmas, perhaps 1/4" if we are lucky. Still raking leaves from the weeping beech and Japanese maples which really just need some moisture to make the leaves heavy enough to fall.

Camellias are getting ready to bloom. Neener, neener, neener!

Well, here we are in Canada's banana belt and we see Helleborus budding up nicely and the Galanthus have broken ground. Before you know it they'll be in bloom!

Season's Greetings to all and 2021 WILL be a better year!

I actually like this time of year. The holidays are over and the mess is all cleaned up. And I don't have to spend the next several months worrying about the holidays - what gifts to buy, what food to cook, decorating, etc. etc. I can do as I please, think about spring and summer, actually relax when I sit down to relax (without feeling like I should be working on something). The fall and the holiday season have their pleasures, but I'm always a bit sad when the days get short, the leaves are gone, and the social pressures build. This year I'm not quite as joyous about the coming seasons as usual though, given the state of things. But I will look forward to seeing my hostas coming up! That's something....
