Bti does work pretty good for me too! I've also used beneficial nematodes to control fungus gnats. NemAttack SF Steinernema feltiae will take care of the larvae and nymphs in the soil. Adults usually die off or get stuck to blue or yellow sticky cards.

I've been using a product called Microbelift (which is BT) as a soil drench when I water my flats of seeds. a 2oz vile of this liquid goes a very long way as you only use a few drops per gallon.

I've had good results last couple years, see link below, but good to know about spinosad also, as I have it on hand, Also use yellow sticky cards, which work great for stopping adults.

Does anyone think spinosad applied as a drench would work or must it be sprayed?

The article I linked to in the initial post recommends a Spinosad drench. It is "Option #1" in the article.

We've used Gnatrol (a B.t.i. product) in our greenhouses at Florida Southern College for years, with good success.

I have been watering my indoor plants, trees at work with soap water ( office bathroom’s hand soap mixed with water) . It worked great. I can’t have any smelly spray at work, and I have a lot of plants.

Sorry, roseseek. What a dunderhead I am! I guess I was confusing this with the label directions and hadn't even read the above link! Wow! Thank you again. I applied it as directed and it has definitely helped. I still may spray some neem, but so far the drench seems to have eliminated everything. I just hope they didn't kill one of my cuttings. : (( Summers, just a warning not to use too much soap. I killed a couple of sensitive houseplants last year doing that. I guess the ratio was off.

Thanks for the warning Vap. They are doing well after many moons. 10 pumps per 2 gal of water, once a week. :-) I am going to try this organic systemic in my new rose garden and the orchard. I am not sure where to start a new rose garden at this moment, got so much land suddenly having a hard time to plan.....I knew every inch I could plant a rose at the small suburb garden though, and fully packed the place. Lol
