Always nice to have a white Christmas!! That happens here like almost never......our tradition is a wet Christmas! And this year will be no exception :-)

Brrr! Your beautiful scenes bring back memories of years living in colder climes. I’m with gardengal - always nice to have a white Christmas which is usually a treat for us But none of us can drive in snow! Christopher, is that ET’s bicycle he left behind when he went home? It appears to be hovering in mid air!

Toto is more my time frame for things hovering in mid air.

The yucca/agave looking plant in front of the white shed looks down right tropical.

Forgive me. I love my garden in the winter. It does things as the snow comes and goes. This is full moon week. The full moon on snow is amazing.

Christopher..beautiful winter photos..Indianapolis on Christmas was cold without snow..our temperature was in the teens 🙁..it's warmed up since..should be 50° soon..looking from my recliner..

I had 6 degrees and 6 inches of snow for Christmas Day. New Year's is looking to be 60 degrees and hurricane waters.

Christopher..the weather's nutty isn't it?..our first snow 12/16/20..then 12/22/20 my perennials look nice..it's sunny and 43°..

The extreme weather swings, more so in winter than summer, seem to be getting more normal and are taking an increasing toll on plants. Spring freeze damage to greater and lesser extent of plants that have broken dormancy is now pretty much a given. Something always gets zapped.

This past spring, Tulip Poplar, all the native ferns and Poisoned Ivy were knocked back. All the spruce cultivars in the garden, Blue Globe, Fat Albert and Bird's Nest suffered damage to the new growth, complete loss to a nip, location and exposure depending.

And the gardens grow on. I marvel at the abundance and resilience of nature.

@Christopher CNC, absolutely agree with your observations on extreme weather swings that are becoming the norm. It’s truly frightening when one ponders the causes and the not so long term effects which seem to be more evident with each passing season. On a cheerier note, your full moon snow garden appreciation made me smile. Because we in the PNW have been enjoying several days of clear night skies, daytime sun & frosty mornings with daytime highs only in low 40’s, I’ve been able to enjoy seeing that full moon illuminating my little yard while seeing it in early evening peeking through the giant fir trees on the adjacent acreage East of me as it rises. Forecast is for increasing cloudiness today so no more viewing tonight & we’ll be warming back up from daytime low 40’s to balmy low 50’s later this week.

I love the 1st photo. Love the blue shades. We didn't get the snow but my son who lives an hour south did. We went for a drive north of us and enjoyed the snow in Highlands, NC.

It was a beautiful Christmas snow. Between that and what day it was, traffic on the scenic byway was nil. I could hear The Silence of the Snow which is so different because the forest is truly a very chatty being.
