Backsplash , kitchen hood

Hi friends, we bought a house recently. previously there was a microwave above the gas stove and we have replaced it with kitchen hood. we also have backsplash in the kitchen. now the issue is , after installing new hood we are seeing some gaps between hood and backsplash. what can I do to cover it?? gap is almost 30” *9” . should I cover with backsplash or any smart idea?? Thank you in advance. please help me!!

Did the previous owners leave any extra tile in the garage? I know when we moved into our house there were extra roof shingles, tiles, paint, etc in the garage that matched the finishes in the house. If not, you might be able to find that same tile locally.

If neither of those 2 options are available, you could remove all the tile that is above the stove and replace it with something that coordinates, and thus you are creating a little focal area behind the stove, such as:

Hope you can find matching tiles to fill in.

If not, then take out & do a squared out tile detail. I would prefer a same color detail in that scenario. Something like this but wider to the sides of the cabinets.

Depending on the hood chosen, maybe stainless steel.

I can not find a photo example I really like, but it gives you a visual of what it may look like if you do do stainless steel.

or redo the whole backsplash in something you like.

I’d leave the tile in place but have a small stainless plate fashioned that will cover the space between tile and the hood. Have the plate made to lip over the the top of the tile, I’d run it to the bottom of the cabinets.
