The stairs don't look very wide and for that reason, I wouldn't put anything with dimension on that wall. The opening at the top is unfortunate, imo, and doesn't need attention. I would put large art on the opposite wall. Hard to trust colours on monitors but the swatches around the outlets are looking green and fairly dark on my monitor. Nothing I would describe as beige. I'd want a lighter and brighter wall colour in that entry.

Thank you! Your right, the color doesn’t show correctly at all when I take a picture of it. It’s very dark. However in person, it is much lighter. We do have a coat rack on the other side. We are in the process of changing everything from gold to brushed nickel. Just waiting for Spring/warmer weather to spray paint the hooks.

I have a split entry as well but my right wall when entering is a pony wall. I don't have anything on the wall coming up because it would have been damaged with the comings and goings of little ones. :) Now, after more than a decade, I'm toying with the idea of wallpapering that wall. I placed large canvas art on the left wall (your coat rack wall), the bottom of it about level with the hallway railing to fill that large expense of wall. If that wall can be seen from other spots in your house, perhaps it would be worth your while to do the same? (Mine can be seen from the living room.) Just a thought without seeing the whole wall or being in your actual space. :)
