You can. It’s a very traditional style home therefore I would try to stay true to the bones. I would paint the trim black. Add a brown wood door. White wash the brick. Remove the shutters. Add bigger windows. Paint or replace garage doors. New lighting. And definitely landscaping. But you can go more modern if you prefer. Really up to you

Removing the shutters will be an update. The windows are the wrong style and size for them. Garage doors could be the same color as the siding so they're not a main focus. Save that for the front door/entry area. Some brick can be really bad, but yours is nice.

I agree with removing the shutters. They don't work at all on those windows. The front door is recessed so I would lean more towards a brighter color to draw the eye to that area. Generally I would paint the garage doors the same color as the siding so they don't "stick out" as much.
