Would love some help from the field here. We are in the midst of a huge house remodel. We plan to limewash our colonial brick house and have black windows being installed. We have double doors being replaced and I'm stuck on the final design choice. Deciding between knotty alder, which I understand to be more of a rustic final look, and mahogany, which sounds like it gives more of a traditional wood look. After that decision, each can be finished in either chestnut or russet. We've been given very small paint chips from the door company, but I can't find full door images anywhere that are labeled with the type of wood and finish to gauge what choices would look best with our home. Including a door style that we're considering. If anyone has a knotty alder or mahogany door in either russet or chestnut, could you please post here with the features so I can get a visual?
