lol. well art is very personal. I just showed you those too because you said you didn't want washed out, and you have the lavender accent color. what's wrong w/colorful art?

Oh your place is really nice where do I find the rug etc that you showed me?

the first one is a flat weave. (you can search white flat weave rug) and the one in the picture is an over dyed rug. Etsy sells a lot of them, houzz, rugsUSA, just search vintage over dyed rugs.

the table, not sure. round marble table w/brass base. Article has some nice chairs like the gray one. for the shelves, try Cost Plus World market. they have a lot of accessories.

I meant the rug in the pic with my sofa ..

Like I said, the rug in the picture is an over-dyed rug. it is gray with a lavender undertone

they come in all sorts of colors. the over dyed wool ones are the best

the one under the table, I don't know. it was in that picture w/the table.

cheaper option,,, a silver and soft white. they have these all over Wayfair, here on Houzz, amazon. Polypropolene is what they're made of. they are cheap and thin.

they have some nice rugs here

Can you show more of the room? Where do you eat? Is the TV right across from the sectional?

However you decorate, remember that clutter visually shrinks the size of a room and having two items takes up more space than one item that will do two things. With an ottoman, having one that can also double as spare seating is a plus -- and one with rounded corners can be better than sharp knee knocker corners.

check Etsy. they have tons of artists. you can customize the size you want.

Overall design- this one is doable by you. it's a flat weave rug with a bit of texture

fiddle leaf fig tree in a basket. the two white ceramic garden stools are all over the place. HomeGoods usually has a good price for them.

The coffee table is rectangle, polished nickel base w/some type of white top. (for example, this side table would be similar. Laci Regency end table Katy K)

get yourself a woven tray like that, a tall glass vase, fill it w/similar stems. or an orchid

add a few little books or what not along with it.

or you could try something like this

Drapes are simple pleated off white. notice the rods are hung above the window.

with this I would pair it w/a wood console for the tv

or like this white one. (notice the drapes here, the chair w/the sheepskin throw, and a tall plant)

look on craiglist for something vintage. maybe a walnut mcm credenza or buffet

    some others

You can upload your room to www.rugsdirect.com and see any rugs that you like on the site in your room. Safavieh is a good brand to start with.

@shirlpp I will do that right now I"m new to this...

Wayfair and Overstock will have the tv consoles, rugs, tables, etc. that Beth suggested. Notice the tv consoles have texture in the front, and the Mid Century Modern one is a sleek wood. Either look will work. I would advise against too much texture in the rug if you have female guests who wear high heels or toddlers that visit. The different pile heights can be a trip hazard.
Etsy has a ton of great artists, you’ll spend hours on that site.
When you look at rugs now, you have some ideas from the above suggestions. Retry RugsDirect and do a filter on colors. Put in grey, lavender, blue. Stop there. Do that on the other sites as well.
Professional designers do this for a living. You’re getting great free advice. Keep us posted on what you like and the whole apartment will be done with you here. You’ve got a nice space!

@redryder thank you so much I’m now adding stuff to the ideabook as suggested and hopefully it will all come together

Ideabooks let you know what you like. Then the pros can see the “inspiration photos” and make suggestions of thins you can access via the internet.

You have a very nice space. Your floor is also nice, and with your style you don't really need a rug. I think I would opt to go rugless to keep the open feeling visually, plus to maintain a smooth path between kitchen, counter/bar and sofa. Maybe just bring in a small table to use as a flexible coffee table, something compact + easy to push out of the way.

Art is a very personal thing. I agree that Etsy.com is a nice resource for all kinds of art, including original paintings. I think a gallery wall could also be nice in your space. It would help to know what some of your interests are.

These vintage Vogue posters are fun.

I can see some type of gallery with mainly black and white with a splash of color like the ones above, or just black and white.

But color could work, too. This one has some of your colors.

I could also see something like this, also as a single piece.

Adding: For tv, if you would like to save floor space, as another option you could wall mount tv with floating console/stand.

Lots of styles to choose from.
