I have Kohler Purist and Brizo matte black in two different bathrooms. The only issue is that there is some spotting with the Kohler in the gold finish, and the Brizo drips a bit and leaves white marks on the drain, which is the pop-up type that I do not like at all. Bath is Newport Brass in matte black, in same bath as the Brizo Jason Wu...they all look great but frankly, both finishes are not as easy to keep pristine as the normal chrome or nickel, in my experience. Having said that I just ordered fixtures for a shower and sink--just today00in matte black from California Faucets. Take a look at them; they worked out less $$ than Kohler Purist.

But I also remembered something else: Brizo cartridges are plastic and the ones from California Faucets are metal. The salesperson in NYC showed me this yesterday. Brizo does havee good customer service, though; the salesperson said California does as well. You know Brizo is Delta's upscale line, right?

This isi the one I picked, also with a hand held shower on a pole (?) so the height can go up and down. I use only hand held. Pricing for this and the Kohler Purist was more or less the same, with CF being a little less $$>

@ekscrunchy good to know about the cartridges. I will spend the extra $$ for quality. I’m debating the Brizo floor mount tub filler (good reviews).. I may use CF for the sinks and shower now.

Paul, I have 3 Brizos in brilliance stainless finish, but these are in my kitchen. The quality is amazing, heavy stuff. Pot filler is super sturdy with high flow. Lifetime warranty.

Sorry I saw this so late...to answer your query, I think the Kohler Purist is a little better than the Brizo. The Brizo faucet seems to leak a tiny bit around the base of the faucet. It is not enough to call a plumber about, but I think both Kohler and Californiai Faucets are better quality, especially since they use those metal cartridges, discussed in post, above.
