Do you like this awning for above front door?

I'm looking to put up some type of awning over our front door, it gets a lot of afternoon sun and I'd like a cover for when it's raining and we're unlocking the door trying not to get drenched! I'm just not sure what would look good with our roof line and the way the door is placed. Any suggestions?

This is a closer picture of the entry, the railing and light fixture have been changed to black - that's in the next picture.

It has to fit under the eve… possibly your second photo. The flatter the better…you already have to gable peaks.

I like this style (called a standing-seam metal awning) the best for your home. Just make sure it goes across the entire space, not just the door.

You’re going to need a gutter along the front with this style, so keep that in mind.

Judy is right, the flatter the better. maybe a 3in12 slope. also since your door is almost butt-kissed against the wall it may be a good aesthetic option to get the canopy wide to off-set and compliment your current architecture. It may look funny to have a small awning sit just on top of your door...

I looks to me like the frame of your door directly abuts the side wall. If so, I don’t see where to can a fix a bracket for these type of canopies.

@Martha Edwards I just went and checked and there is about 2 inches of wall, it would be tight!

What did you end up going with? I have been searching for the right door canopy for my side door and I don't care for the metal ones.
