    Not dated.

    I like the pulls.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I wouldn't select them myself, but I also wouldn't walk into this kitchen and think "OMG, how can they live with those?" Prob wouldn't even notice them, frankly.

meh, they're ok. I wouldn't have chosen them for that style kitchen, but they're not dated.

    these might loo better

there's a lot more going on than just the handles.

You need a larger light fixture. and one that isn't bright white and silver.

    this one would look better

you need something in the 13" or larger. wood and black or ORB would fit your kitchen better than white and silver (plus, you have a diffuser shade on your light. It's not giving you proper lighting) Make sure you get LED bulbs in the 4000K temp.

They’re not bad, but they get lost on these cabinet doors. I’d go with Beth’s suggestion, the black would pop.l

^^agree with @darbuka. The pulls are fine. The backsplash is dated.

I agree with Beth's comments re the light fixture. I would also change the backsplash or the countertop. I think that the finishes need to have harmony and not just come from the same colour pallet. The countertop and blacksplash fight for attention, and that takes away from harmony. If you leave your countertops, I would suggest a cream backsplash. The shape of your handles is fine , but the colour is bland where it could pop. with black handles. You can trem-clad or powder coat the handles if the cost on new ones are too high. If you love your backsplash, I would suggest hat you choose a more subtle sand coloured countertop.

I completely agree with the backsplash and countertops completing for attention and lack of flow. I am totally lost On how to do this cause the kitchen isn’t my style.

Walls are SW Light French Grey- we like the colour. We like the navy accent wall and the sofa is new. I wish I knew how to make it all make sense but I want it to be warm cozy and transitional but feel like it’s impossible not to have a mid century modern or boho vibe with with the tone of the kitchen.

Specifics on the kitchen and ways to pull that through welcomed.

I don't think your kitchen is boho or MCM - at all. Your cabinet are shaker which is about as classic as it gets, and the wood tone is nice. Are they good quality? If so, I'd consider changing the counter and backsplash (what IS that counter? is it actually a stone or a laminate that looks like stone?) to something lighter and less busy, and then update the hardware, lighting, etc. That backsplash has to go. :)

I like your color choices w/the blue.

It does seem you like more cleaner, modern lines?

    May I suggest some alternatives?

you light. again, it's too small. you need something w/a larger circumference.

the art over the sofa. you really should do the photo collage elsewhere. those pics are too small and far too high for anyone to actually see.

Do something like this for the photos in another part of the home

Your mirror is also hung too high. lower it a foot and center it on the wall (if it stays)

Ditto the dining room art. Lower it so that the middle of the pic is at 56"-60 from the floor)

    should be about here.

for over the sofa, you need something substantial to fit that wall.

also remember, everything should be hung at eye level (eye level to the MIDDLE of the picture which is normally 56-60") behind a sofa, no higher than 6" above the back.

for you sofa, try and find something this size that spans 2/3rds the length of sofa.

next, a rug. see the one above?

or you could try something w/blues/grays/whites, etc

just curious. have you tried placing the sofa so that it faces the blank wall? what happens is you do that? the one side of the sofa will still be against the wall

here's more mid century. pretend this console is your fireplace. everything else is laid out similar to yours.

notice the sofa placement, drapes, plants, and side chair/lamps. rug/coffee table.

    here's a similar layout

another way to style the sectional w/ottoman, rug, and side table and lamp

    here's navy and gray

the rocker chair? is that staying? I ask because it really doesn't go w/everything else

i'll post more for the kitchen IF you would like some other ideas.

I don't think that kitchen is boho or MCM either. if you went with a simple white tile backsplash, it would look so much better. I like Beth's suggestions for black hardware and new light fixtures too.

    Beth,

When We bought our house everything was beige..... everywhere. When I was pregnant It hit me how beige everything was and I don’t like beige And then I think I went too far the other side. I want it to be modern, but still warm and cozy with a touch of rustic/farmhouse. Cozy transitional-with a touch Of rustic.

the length of the couch is too long to face the wall with the mirror. Plus because layout and walkway, it won’t make sense. Can I make the mirror make sense?

Confused with how to make the kitchen make sense with the vibe I want- backsplash/ countertops/ lighting

I like the ivory couch and ottoman photo- but I have a 2 yr old and 3.5 year old so glass and white are a definite no. rocker is definitely not staying. Just took it down from the nursery for seating.

Definitely want more ideas for the Kitchen and ways to cozy up the space!

Gallery wall- noted this needs to go.

I like the lighting suggestions posted earlier too- so I am open to the industrial touches just want to make sure its balanced with the rest of the space

for the kitchen, did you like that light I photo shopped for you? I think it works better in the room. maybe both. It's at Lowes. Kichler.

I see you like glam (you have the glam light, the glam mirror, the glam dining light) but you say you want transitional/ rustic. All of those aren't going to work together.

here's another transitional light that leans rustic, but has a touch of glam w/o going overboard. Your current lights in both kitchen family room really don't work. (plus, they're too small)

ok, so lets stick w/that living room area for now. you need a few tweaks.

Can you pick a piece of art you like and rug?

here are some similar small living rooms w/the colors you like. pick and choose the items you could use

notice the shelf with the art work on this one. you could even do something similar on the other wall. wood table and gray/blue rug

same idea here, but w/lighter tones

navy rug, you already have the pillows,,,a wood/black metal coffee table,

I like this one w/the woven wood blinds, and the blue/white rug. the velvet ottoman is nice too.

blue and gray, with a few peachy pink accents.

this one has more rustic accents I think your glam mirror doesn't work in your space.

Ok your amazing....... I think I’m realizing I like the glam in theory but not reality. It doesn’t work with who we are and our lifestyle. I would like to repurpose the mirror but maybe in our master. I want to loose that “no touch” room vibe. Besides the sofa, dining table, chairs and the art everything is there to simply fill space. Here is the closest mood board to what I am going for:

    More

I was consider here for the mirror also

    Nope. Not ugly.

I should note the pic above with the taupe couch is just for the art

I think you have some good ideas and choices, you just need to put them together.

yes the mirror could go in the entry, just don't hang it too high! (are you people super tall or something??!)

Hahahaha yes my husband is 6’3 and I am 58 😂. I have all the ideas I just don’t know how to execute.

This also takes me back to the kitchen. Because I wouldn’t have chosen the colour I can’t wrap my mind around decorating.or choosing backsplash and accessories to tie it all in. Assuming I go with an off white backsplash& countertop..... what would you suggest for the lighting ( kitchen dining and living rm

I need someone to tell me what to do!!!

lol. how much of a budget do you have?!

back to the kitchen. change the light.

tear out the backsplash (and countertop if you're not fond of it. ) You have budget for that?

living room. you have the pictures to choose from. pick some of the accessories and use them!

    new light

    art

    rug

    coffee table or ottoman

end table w/lamp, lose the white cubbies and the rocker chair.

you could do something w/the fireplace surround and mantle. maybe some trim work above it.

woven wood blinds on the windows.

    entryway,, paint door.

    get a longer console.

since you have pets, get one w/a pet feeding station

for the area by the door, you really need a storage bench and some hooks for jackets

if you have the room, do this one where you have the other console. or make a longer bench by the door.

tons of ideas for entryways w/storage online. you just have to look through them and decide which one works for your dimensions
