Backsplash HELP PLEASE!

I'm at a loss as to what to do about my backsplash. I'm at this point where half of the backsplash is on but contractor can take it down in the morning before it completely sets. I think it's too grey and doesn't match the 'griege' lower cabinets (which are Merit Cabinets colour Haze). Uppers are Frost. Problem started when I picked the wrong counter top. It's not a pure white. It's a beige white. Firstone Q6107. That lead me astray in my vision of white from counters up. I see lots of pics online with griege cabinets with marble backsplash and some do clash but they still seem to be accepted/loved by designers. I was thinking if I did keep these carerra herringbone that perhaps downplaying it with an offwhite grout like frost or alabaster would help.

FYI - On either side of the white cabinets will be wood toned open shelving.

Any suggestions?

Continue as is with the Carrerra Herringbone?
Find a better suited marble, maybe Calacatta Gold?
Use subway tile and match to counter?
Use subway tile and match to uppers?
Other?
